Frequently asked questions
- How do you control the quality of TheGoodBlogs.
Probably the foremost question on everyone's mind. It's always going to a challenge finding which blogs should or shouldn't be on TheGoodBlogs. On the one hand we want to ensure some of the lesser known blogs get coverage and on the other hand, we don't believe we should be arbitrary censors of TheGoodBlogs. We think the balance is to give people choice. Here are some of the checks and balances we've put into the system. As a new solution, we're open to learn and adapt as the market demands.
- All the blogs must be vetted by us before being accepted.
- Blogs entries older than 15 days are automatically removed from being promoted in the network until it detects a new blog entry
- Our system is driven by a combination of general tags and system tags. You may choose to display on your blog any combination of tags. e.g. sports and technology blogs. You may also decide only to show a smaller moderated set of blogs using system tags e.g. tgb_technolgy, where you are sure to only promote quality blogs but may miss out on some fringe stuff or blogs that are under the radar, it is your choice.
- For specific communities that have a membership of bloggers, we can tag each community specially so each blogger has an option to only promote his own community or combine it with other tags to widen his content on his blog.
- In the coming weeks, we will introduce a system of rating that is driven by both readers and bloggers. We want to provide the best blog promotion service available today, not to get a ton of editorial staff to make subjective decisions. That's something we hope to get better at through the beta.

- What does it cost?
Our basic service as offered during this beta phase is free. Eventually, we may decide to offer premium services for a nominal fee.
- Do I make any money doing this?
No, our value proposition is that we can drive up your readership faster than conventional means. It is up to you to monetize your blog or website using opular channels like Google text ads, etc.
- How do you make money?
The dudes at TheGoodBlogs are fully committed to doing this on a full-time basis. Our revenue stream is to place one ad on each block. You can view the ads associated with each category on our Spotted at page.
- Can I choose who I show on my blog?
No, currently you won't be able to choose individual or specific blogs to display on your blog. You can only choose the categories you want to show in TheGoodBlogs block. Otherwise your readers will be missing out on all the good blogs that get added on a continual basis. A category could be a general tag, e.g. technology, a moderated list using a system tag (e.g. tgb_technology) or a specific tag assigned to a partner community who is using us to promote it's own members.
- Can I exclude certain blogs in the category I choose?
This is one of the exciting features we are currently working on.
- What if I see a blog that is not appropriate for a given context or interest?
Please contact us using our Contact us page and we will give it our immediate attention. We are putting in a rating system shortly that takes feedback from both readers and TheGoodBlog members.
- Do you give out email addresses or contact information?
Your email address is never published or given/sold to anyone. We have a private message system within our site that allows members to contact each other. The only emails from TheGoodBlogs are only from us. Click here> to read more about private messages.
